Petit Jean State Park, Arkansas, Spring Break 2017.

I know, that does say Arkansas and spring break, in the same caption.  I also know it’s everyone’s first choice for spring break destinations but, I’m gonna tell you, I was amazed at the beauty of the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas. Plus, it was a prefect destination for our first family spring break trip. 

We had quite the adventure that included a cruise around Memphis, camping in Arkansas, tornado warnings, quick campsite cleanup, some pretty amazing hikes and some pregame fun in St. Louis on opening day. 

We also had some great moments. My favorite was our hike to the highest point in Mt Magazine State Park. When you reach the top there is a sign with a little clearing and some benches. We had packed our lunch to have at the top of the mountain. When we set down to eat, we looked up there were hundreds of butterflies fluttering around making the moment pretty magical. 

I’m sure this won’t be our most unexpected spring break location but for our first family spring break trip it was amazing. Leaving us wanting for more Arkansas adventures.
