The pumpkin patch.

One of my favorite things to do at the beginning of October is head to the pumpkin patch and pick some pumpkins and get some ice cream. With just a short drive from our house our favorite seasonal farm, Spence Farms, offers great family fun. We have been twice and plan to go at least one more time.

We decided to go during the week because each weekend this month has been planned with camping, birthday parties and work. A weekday trip was awesome because we were one of few people there. I consider that a bonus because we can be as loud as we want and the boys can run wherever they want.

The other bonus, I can easily get the pictures I want to get!

But that doesn’t mean that my subjects cooperate the way I would like.

The downfall, no one we could ask to snap a picture of all of us but I was impressed with Emerson’s skills.

I love mums and they have a large you-dig field with super large plants and every color possible.

The only thing we didn’t get to do was take a hayride, which is why we plan to go one more time when we can squeeze it in during a weekend.
