A boy and his tools. 

This weekend we crossed many tasks off our home improvement to do list. One was fixing the missing shingles on the roof with the help of a handyman. The boys are always excited any time anyone comes to our house but love when people come to work on our house. 

Emerson gathered his tools- a toy drill, a real hammer, a couple of real screw drivers, sun glasses and his Leap Pad computer. Along with strict instructions that he was not allowed to climb the ladder and to help on the ground with the clean up. He picked up a couple of discarded shingles and put them in the bucket and then decided it was too hot and went inside. I am pretty sure he was just waiting for an opportunity to climb the ladder and when he realized that it wasn’t going to happen he bailed.

I  love his willingness to want to help and I hope that he will always want to help even when he is big enough to climb the ladder.
